Gouda Refractories Group acquires Revestimientos Refractarios
Gouda Refractories Group B.V. with its headquarters in Gouda, the Netherlands (hereinafter referred to as ‘Gouda’) has acquired Revestimientos Refractarios located in Madrid, Spain.
The cooperation between Gouda and Revestimientos Refractarios goes back many years. In recent years both companies have intensified their cooperation which, due to a natural moment of succession, has led to this acquisition.
Founded in 1979, Revestimientos Refractarios has been known for 47 years as a high-end, committed and motivated partner for the installation of refractory materials, serving customers across a wide range of industries, including petrochemicals, (waste to) energy, cement, and other industrial sectors. Revestimientos Refractarios is not only active in Spain, but is also a trusted partner for the installation of refractory materials, hexmesh, anchoring, engineering, technical assistance, project management, inspections and supervision for shutdowns and turnarounds across the European Union. Its offices and warehouse are located in Madrid. The company is ISO 9001 certified, and all employees are VCA-certified.
Mr. Jorge Palacios will be the new Managing Director from July 1, 2026, whereas Mr. Sixto Palacios, one of the founders of the company, will continue to support the team as Senior Advisor.
Together with Gouda, the employees of our companies will be able to provide an even higher level of service to. The services of Revestimientos Refractarios will be combined with the technical support and high-level refractory solutions (bricks, castables and precast) of Gouda Refractories. This acquisition will strengthen the market position of both companies and once again emphasize the commitment of Gouda to grow in the design, production, installation and maintenance of refractory solutions.
Gouda, since October 2024 part of Shinagawa Refra Group Co., Ltd, is an international operating group of companies, consisting of a high-end refractory solutions producing company combined with five refractory service and installation companies located in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Portugal and Sweden.
